Services: Funding

AT Loan Fund

The Bank of New Hampshire currently provides a guaranteed loan fund for assistive technology solutions to a maximum loan of $10,000. These funds are available to anyone with a disability for any type of assistive technology related to home, school, work, play or to maintain health, wellness or independence within the community. Currently, the loan rate is equal to the passbook savings rate. For more information on the Assistive Technology Loan Fund, contact Bank of New Hampshire.

Making a Donation

ATECH Services is constantly striving to maximize it's efforts. As a mostly grant-funded non-profit organization, ATECH can very much benefit from additional funding sources and donations. Donations are tax deductible, can be monetary, actual equipment or in-kind, and are greatly appreciated. Please see our wish list to donate an item that would make an immediate impact in the way we are able to perform our services.

Budgeting for FM Systems

The Instructional Materials Center at NHVHN has several FM systems available for long term loan. However, there are limited amounts, and schools may need to purchase a device for use by a student if the appropriate device is not available, or if the school prefers to own its own system. There are many choices to consider, and our staff is happy to help you with that decision. Also, once the choice has been made to purchase a device, NHVHN is happy to assist schools in ordering the equipment.

A personal FM system such as an Easy Listener or Lightspeed Desktop unit is often a good solution for a hard of hearing student who does not use personal hearing aids. These units cost from $650.00 - $800.00 to purchase. Students who use personal hearing aids may require systems that allow for calibration to their individual hearing loss, and can cost from $2,400.00 -- $4,000.00 to purchase. General yearly maintenance and repair for FM systems can cost from $200.00 - $800.00 per year. One manufacturer of FM systems, Phonic Ear, provides a comprehensive list of possible funding sources on their website.
